Notable Project: Modern Streetcar System

Modern-Streetcar-Plaque-ARK-Ramos

We are always excited when we get to work on a project that is close to home and this one is literally a mile away from our office!

Oklahoma City has recently installed a self-funded 4.86 mile modern streetcar system. The system will become one of EMBARK’s family of transit services, and will include 22 stops linking major employers, businesses, attractions and residences in the downtown area.

The launch is tentatively set for Friday, December 14, 2018 but the ceremonies have begun and our plaque was part of one. We are excited to see our downtown come to life!

In Remembrance: Field Of Empty Chairs

We were honored to be part of the OKC National Memorial Museum’s “Field Of Empty Chairs” when the project was constructed.

?Last week, Sir Rod Stewart was in our hometown of Oklahoma City for a concert and paid his respects to those who lost their lives in the tragic bombing on April 19, 1995. We will never forget.

Raster vs Vector Files

At A.R.K. Ramos, one of the things that can help streamline our design process is when clients are able to send Vector images. 
A vector graphic is necessary for signs with dimension. The design in a vector file is composed of mathematically mapped lines and points our machines follow when cutting the artwork.
The most common vector file types are .eps, .ai, and .pdf. This is normally something that people don’t have on their computers so reach out to your graphic designer!

Spotlight On: Pat Summitt

Pat Summitt

Getting to be part of history is one of the things we love the most about our products and what they are used for.

Pat Summitt was a legendary basketball coach with the most wins in college basketball history when she retired from coaching. She also was a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

While we never knew Coach Summitt personally, we know the legacy she left and are honored that we got to be part of this project and create these custom prismatic halo illuminated letters.

The process allows the designer to create beautiful multi-dimensional plaques at a fraction of the cost of bas relief castings. This new process gives slightly less relief than sculpted plaques but much more relief than standard etched metal plates. 

You supply the high resolution photos and we do the rest. Our artists can create collages or use a single photo along with text to tell the story behind your project.

ADA Compliant Signage

We offer a  full line of American Disabilities Act compliant signs in aluminum, brass, bronze, stainless steel, magnesium, & zinc. We offer many different stock patterns and are also able to customize signs according to your specifications.

Our ADA signs meet most city, state and federal fire safety and building codes and are also acceptable in private and public buildings. 

For our full line of American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sign offerings, all letters and Braille are raised a minimum of 1/32? from the surface with letters and symbols in contrasting colors to background colors.
